Last week we teamed up with Exposure and Netflix to invite a very privileged group of Mamas to the screening of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and be one of the first in the world to watch one of the next biggest shows on Netflix, before it launched last Friday 6th March. They were treated to an afternoon of flavoursome food, divine drinks and posh pampering.
The event was a chance to meet the Netflix team and hear more about the Stream Team. A global network of over 500 mummy bloggers who love entertainment and finding new ways to deal with being a busy mum.
The mums had the chance to enjoy some well-deserved ‘me-time’ and escape from your hectic life! Netflix is always there for even the most unbreakable mums – a place where you can catch up on your favourite TV shows and films whenever, wherever and however you want!
‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ is the latest Netflix-only series that you’re about to become obsessed with, thanks to smart, cackle-inducing writing courtesy of ‘30 Rock’ scribes Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and a big-hearted, fish-out-of-water titular character, played by Ellie Kemper.
The show centres around the naïve Kimmy (Ellie), who is forced to contend with the real world after being released from a doomsday cult’s bunker after 15 years underground, believing the world above has been destroyed.
Kimmy eventually decides to settle in New York and ends up sharing a basement apartment in Brooklyn with a flamboyant roommate - the aspiring (i.e. failing) musical-theatre actor Titus.
Cue adventures and scrapes aplenty as the pair (and a hilarious supporting cast) make their way in an ever-confusing world.
