TOMS is excited to partner with National Geographic and support its critical nonprofit work through the Big Cats Collection. Big cats in the wild are disappearing at an alarming rate, and this special collection draws attention to the critical need to protect these majestic creatures for generations to come. Since 2009, National Geographic’s Big Cats Initiative has worked to reverse the decline of big cats through on-the-ground conservation and education projects in Africa, Asia, and North and South America. These projects include instituting patrols to prevent lion snaring and poaching and building livestock enclosures to protect endangered cats from retaliatory killing.

We could harp on about how great our Mothers Meeting was, but we wouldn’t want to blow our own trumpet 😉 So we have handed the review over to a fellow mama blogger N4 MUMMY to give you the low down - make sure to check out here blog here and shop the collection here

For those of you who are regular readers of N4 Mummy, you’ll know just how
much I applaud companies who seek to make a positive difference, TOMS is
no exception. They’re a brand who I’m sure you know and love, for their
über comfy shoes and commitment to helping people in need. You see for
every TOMS product purchased, TOMS will help a person, hence their slogan
“One for One”. To date over 45 million pairs of shoes have been given to
those who can’t afford them. So when I was invited by Mother’s Meeting to
celebrate the launch of TOMS new range, in partnership with National
Geographic, I couldn’t say no.

Mother’s Meeting
For those of you who don’t know what a Mother’s Meeting is, let me
explain. Founded by Jenny Scott, it’s a group of like-minded mummies who
want to talk about more than just nappies and sleep deprivation. Creative
mummies who care about the latest trends, culture and the newest soho
hotspot. TOMS had pulled in help from the super energetic Sharky & George
who put on a whole host of entertainment to keep little ones happy;
including games, arts and crafts and face painting by Snapdragon, There
was plenty of tea, coffee and prosecco (!) to go round and lunch for
everyone.

Help Save Big Cats
TOMS have created their Big Cats Collection to raise awareness of the need
to protect these creatures. Big cats are disappearing in the wild at an
alarming rate, and this collection will support National Geographic’s
nonprofit work. They are working on conservation and education projects,
such as providing patrols to prevent poaching and building enclosures to
protect these endangered cats from retaliatory killing. The collection
takes inspiration from the very animals they are trying to help, with a
range of animal print footwear, eyewear and even a backpack.

For every pair of shoes bought TOMS gives a pair away. For every pair of
sunglasses bought TOMS give a pair of glasses for someone who can’t see,
and for every bag bought TOMS provides a midwife with a bag for a newborn
child in areas of extreme poverty.

The Verdict?
Clearly TOMS are a brand who care about helping others and our world and
you can’t fault them for that. From a fashion perspective, the animal
print is right on the mark, though with my buyers head on I question the
wisdom of launching a new range of essentially summer shoes and sunglasses
as we go into winter.

A big thank you to TOMS and Mother’s Meeting for inviting me to celebrate
this launch.
