So we are both under the weather, going out of the house is not a option. So rather go insane watching daytime tv.
We’ve decided to listen to some old soul and sort THE big pile of paper work out (it’s been sitting on top of the fridge gathering dust for far too long!!).
Not only are we having a good old singalong, we are sorting stuff out and having fun! (the old bills make great entertainment)

Why reading ( even Grazia ) to babies is important.
You may wonder about the benefits of reading to your baby. An infant won’t understand everything you’re doing or why. But you wouldn’t wait until your child could understand what you were saying before you started speaking to him or her, right? And you wouldn’t bypass lullabies until your baby could carry a tune or wait until he or she could shake a rattle before you offered any toys.
Reading aloud to your baby is a wonderful shared activity you can continue for years to come — and it’s an important form of stimulation.
Reading aloud:
•teaches a baby about communication
•introduces concepts such as stories, numbers, letters, colors, and shapes in a fun way
•builds listening, memory, and vocabulary skills
•gives babies information about the world around them
Believe it or not, by the time babies reach their first birthday they will have learned all the sounds needed to speak their native language. The more stories you read aloud, the more words your child will be exposed to and the better he or she will be able to talk. Hearing words helps to build a rich network of words in a baby’s brain. Kids whose parents frequently talk/read to them know more words by age 2 than children who have not been read to. And kids who are read to during their early years are more likely to learn to read at the right time.
When reading, your child hears you using many different emotions and expressive sounds, which fosters social and emotional development. Reading also invites your baby to look, point, touch, and answer questions — all of which promote social development and thinking skills. And your baby improves language skills by imitating sounds, recognizing pictures, and learning words.
But perhaps the most important reason to read aloud is that it makes a connection between the things your baby loves the most — your voice and closeness to you — and books. Spending time reading to your baby shows that reading is a skill worth learning.

I have been bathing my little 8 month old baby boy twice a day for a while now, not that i am obsessive with him getting grubby, i find that it tends he make him really sleepy and its a great time to have one to one play time. At the moment he is more than happy playing with his shampoo bottle, bowl and sponge but i think it would be nice to have some other form of entertainment, maybe i am the one that wants to add a little more fun to bath time!
I just came across this and think i am going to give it a go.
This is a review from Amazon
‘My daughter loves these Octopals. They’re very cute and she likes to line up all the little babies in a row so that their eyes are facing her. They can be stuck to almost any surface in the bath with their suction cups and when you squeeze them over the bath, each one makes a different squeaky sound. Best of all, they’re very easy to squeeze and so they can be kept very clean. Some squeezy bath toys grow mold if you don’t empty out the water every time, and some of them are difficult to squeeze. These little guys are very squeezy and so you can be sure 99% of the water is out when you clean up after bathtime.’

As soon as you find out you have a bun in the oven that’s it!!! SHOPPING, you instantly become a marketers dream, advertisers, shops, magazines etc etc all trying to convince you that unless you but their latest product you are not going to make it in the world of parenthood!!
This is the start of a new post series where i will be revealing moms/mums/mams most treasured baby purchases. So to start the ball rollin, i am sharing with you…
The reason for me choosing these 2 items first is because i know how hard it is to get toys that look good in the home. I needed something that was in primary colours as my living room is prominently blk/wht/grey and wood, sounds sooo pretentious i know but believe me these are pretty big things to have lying around, so you want them to look at least half decent. We have plenty of ugly toys too but as soon as the little man is sleeping we put them to sleep too! It took some time to find these babies but we got there.
BRIO My Very First Blanket
Like all Brio products this blanket is well thought through and of good quality. The fabric is very soft and washable and the ears of the rabbit are long and floppy - perfect to drag the blanket from one room to the other.
