MOTHERS MEETING PRESENTS KJ’S LAUNDRY

Last months MOTHERS MEETING Mumthly coffee morning at Shoreditch House was hosted by the fabulous KJ’s Laundry and our focus was all about how to maintain a fashionable yet practical post-baby look whilst juggling the demands of motherhood.
Working with super cool celeb stylist and mother Stevie B - used our gorgeous audience of new mums to model cool, comfortable and stylish looks/outfits.

Stevie B created 10 different looks for mums to get things done in, considering those who have just given birth and those who have growing children. Using pieces from Kj’s Laundry boutique the focus was on looking good with minimal effort as well as how to pull off some of the season’s trends.

Kate and Jane founded Kj’s Laundry in 2006. With the desire to bring up and coming labels to the UK and edit the collection so the shop was filled with wearable and effortless pieces. We have created a name for ourselves as a friendly shop with a fab selection from some of the coolest labels in fashion. We love our spot just of Marylebone High St

REVIEW BY OUR VERY SPECIAL MM MAMMA AFUA ADOM.
Afua is a journalist and works as Feature Editor at Pride magazine, not only is Afua a generally all round awesome lady and Mama. She has also recently lost a ridiculous of baby weight - 5 stone in fact. At this very special event Afua told us how/why and generally about the journey she embarked to becoming the person she really was!

I have to admit that when I became a mum a lost a great deal of my sense of self. A huge part of this for me was to do with the way I looked. I piled on the baby weight which I have now lost - 5st 1lb to be exact - and being big suddenly meant I had nothing to wear. Working in fashion and beauty this was devastating. Not being able to fit into my pre-baby clothes depressed me no end and I had no idea what to buy. I wore loads and loads of black baggy clothes but now I’ve got rid of my post-baby body, my shape has completely changed as has who I am really - I’m mum now. That doesn’t mean I can’t look hot or wear bright colours - it just means dry-clean only on hanging with the baby days are a big no-no as a things with lots of embellishments or pedantic jewellery. Although I’ve done some styling myself it was great to pop along to a Mother’s Meeting with KJ’S Laundry and stylist Stevie B to get their advice and recommends on what to wear to accommodate the most fashionable of mamas. KJ’S Laundry was started by two mums named, Kate and Jane with five kids between them so of course you can trust that they know what us mums want and need from fashion. Not only were we treated to a viewing of all the hottest pieces to land in the KJ’S Laundry store we also got the chance to try them on in our own mum-inspired fashion walk-off. From the sexy bright sweatshirts to the first pair of jeans I’ve ever wanted to (and did) buy in six years KJS Laundry is a store where you will genuinely find something you can’t live without in your wardrobe. Mix that up with some essential styling advice from Stevie B and us mamas have never looked so good.
